Are front door handles a standard size?

What is the difference between a Type A and Type B door handle?

Answer: Type A has a screw under the handle and at the bottom of the backplate, thye distance between screws is 122mm and overall length of plate is 220mm. Type B has screws top and bottom, 211mm between screws and 240mm overall length of plate.

Are all front door locks the same size?

Most of the current locks require the standard 21/8” bore. If one wants to replace their locks on doors that have smaller diameter holes there are 2 options. First, doors can usually be re-drilled. Secondly, there are a few lock companies, like Weiser, that make locks to fit the smaller bore.

Are all deadbolts the same size?

Can I change the handle on my front door?

Removing your old door handle is a very simple task. With your door in an open position use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws (most handles have two screws but sometimes their may be three). Once the screws are removed you can now pull the outside handle and inside handle apart with little effort.

Is it easy to change a front door handle?

The process for installing the new handle is the same as the process to remove the pre-existing handle, just in the reverse order. So as long as you have measured your old handle accurately, replacing your door handle should be extremely simple and stress-free, with all the features lining up perfectly in place.
